FERRARI 250 TR58 – 24 HEURES DU MANS 1958 #16
WOLFGANG VON TRIP – WOLFGANG SEIDER.
1/32 scale reproduction of the Ferrari 250 TR58 No. 16 that participated in the 1958 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is one of 11 Ferraris entered in the race and, like cars Nos. 12 and 14, was entered. by the official Ferrari team.
The No. 16, which is also driven on the left, has some subtleties, most notably in the brake air intakes located at the front, on either side of the grille, which are slimmer than on the other two. The front hood bulge on No. 16 is shaped like a teardrop, while on No. 12 and 14 it is shaped like a triangle. The connection of the rear wings to the front of the car has also been reshaped on the No. 16 only.
The first hours of the race are marked by a traditional sprint between the Aston Martin of Stirling Moss and the Wolfgang von Trips 250 TR58 No. 16. Play on equal terms with the race leader, oscillating between 3rd and 4th place.
Shortly after midnight, Wolfgang Seidel sets out for Arnage. At the end of the turn the car stops in the mud and can’t get out. He gave up at the 9th hour even though he was in 3rd position the previous hour.
