FERRARI 250 TR58 – WINNER 24 HEURES DU MANS 1958 #14
Olivier Gendevien & Phil Hill
1/32 scale reproduction of the Ferrari 250 TR58 that won the 1958 24 Hours of Le Mans. Eleven Ferraris lined up at the start, three of them entered by Scuderia Ferrari.
The #14 can only be distinguished from the #12 by the left-hand drive; other body details are identical. The chassis of this vehicle finished 3rd in the Targa Florio and 5th in the 1000 km of Nürburgring.
This 26th edition of the 24 Hours was greatly affected by torrential weather and a series of accidents. The American-Belgian crew of Phill Hill and Olivier Gendebien took the lead of the race in the third hour of racing and maintained it until the end. After four appearances, Oliver Gendebien is finally crowned champion. This victory, which ends three consecutive victories for Jaguar, secures Ferrari a first new World Champion title before the final round of the Championship.
