Porsche 550 Coupe #152 IV Carrera Panamericana 1953 Winner
The 4th Pan-American Race of 1953 was one of the toughest races in history: 3,000 km of desert, mountains, and dust. The #152 Porsche 550 Coupé, driven by José Herrarte Ariano and Carlos González, won the S1.6 class with an impeccable strategy.
With just 110 hp and 550 kg, this small German sports car proved that reliability and handling could trump raw power. It was Porsche’s first major victory in international competition.
