Honda’s humble CG125 may be the toughest small-capacity motorcycle ever. The CG125 was never a powerhouse (it made about 11 horsepower and 7 lb-ft of torque), but it was enough to handle basic transportation in Europe and developing countries. It has endured with minor updates since the 1970s, not so much because of its engine capacity, but because of its reliability. The key to the CG125’s success was its 124cc, four-stroke engine. The Japanese brand wanted to build a motorcycle that would run with minimal maintenance, and it quickly established itself as a very popular bike around the world.
