Lafosse, in a Rondeau car, suffered a mechanical failure at the start of the Mulsanne Straight, suddenly veered to the right and slams into a guardrail, next to a marshals post, bounced back across the trackand stops on the left side of the straight, Lafosse was partially ejected frim the car as half of his body was dragged with his legs still inside, Lafosse was killed instantly, 2 mashals were injured.
